Once the resolution is passed, the company must file MGT-14 and INC-24 with RoC along with requisite fees for name change.

In some cases, a company may decide to rebrand itself for better positioning in the market or to reinforce its image. The change in the name is generally done by altering the Memorandum of Association and bringing it into line with the new business objects of the company. The company may also choose to change its name in the event of acquisition or takeover by a different entity. It may even opt to change its name after gaining popularity for a particular product or service.
